Kindergarten, Pre-Primary & Primary Farm Visits
Are you interested in a class visit to Landsdale Farm School?
(Visits are conducted on class teacher guided basis only.)
Landsdale Farm School is a unique model demonstration farm with a wide range of educational options for your students. Opportunities exist in the eight Learning Areas.
We have a comprehensive animal section including: - cows, ponies, donkeys, pigs, goats, sheep, alpacas, rabbits, geese, ducks, turkeys and chickens. You may also wish to visit the Conservation Park adjacent to the farm on 17 hectares of pristine Banksia Woodland with birds, insects, wildflowers and animals.
Our extensive Herb Garden is considered an excellent example with many interesting facts and activities available.
Our vegetable garden and orchard includes a range of seasonal vegetables and fruits. We encourage sustainable agriculture and practice both crop rotation and companion planting.

Professional Learning Requirements
Teachers are required to attend a Professional Learning Course – Full day – before the class visit. Cost for the PL Course is $20 per participant. As class visits are teacher planned and supervised it is essential that class teachers undertake participation in the Professional Learning course or have attended a course within the last three years. This requirement is to ensure that visiting students maximise their learning experiences / learning outcomes.Visit Cost

Insurance
Landsdale Farm School is a Department of Education and Training (Western Australia) facility and as such general insurance applies. Personal Accident Insurance for students is your school responsibility. The Department of Education and Training also carries Public Liability Insurance.Duty of Care
This is the responsibility of the organising teacher / school. Please plan to provide adequate supervision for your students. Because of the nature of the property it is better to have small groups with a supervising adult.Talks, Demonstrations and Farm Activities

PROFESSIONAL LEARNING COURSE
It is our aim that by the time you have completed the Professional Learning Course you will:-- learn how the farm developed
- gain knowledge of the facility and the potential use thereof
- develop learning outcomes for your students with links to Overarching Student Outcomes
- develop an appropriate set of focus questions, observations and worksheet suggestions for your students
- organise suggested student grouping and supervision requirements, and
- know the evacuation procedures while visiting Landsdale Farm School.
