SCHOOL PURPOSE STATEMENT

Our vision is that Landsdale Farm School will continue to provide: -
  1. A rich and extensive learning environment for students with disabilities and those in primary and high schools.
  2. A systems resource, which enhances the recognition of the Department of Education as a provider of excellence in education, inclusive of curriculum frameworks and learning outcomes.
  3. An integral part of the community, which encourages people to view the aesthetic features and enjoy the ambience of the farm environment. A place people want to visit.
  4. An environment which supports the concept and practice of a collaborative decision making model and with a close working partnership with Landsdale Farm School Incorporated.
  5. An environment that provides opportunities for “authentic learning” for all students and visitors.
  6. An organization that is strong, independent and resourceful in developing future vision.
  7. Utilization of volunteers to assist with the supervision and information sharing, regarding animals and herb garden.

GENERAL STATEMENT

As in all our development we have the interest of children and their learning as the prime objective. We are attempting to provide a rich facility in learning experiences for all students, including those with disability. As we develop the farm more activities and learning opportunities become available.

It must be remembered that this school commenced as an annex to Koondoola Special School (now Burbridge) for students with disabilities. Apart from the grant of the land, 4.2 hectares, the farm has been built and developed by a small committed committee which raised all development funds.

This school has reversed the inclusion model by beginning specifically for students with disabilities and becoming welcoming to all.
